The fundraising event - where 'last chance' tables cost $12,000 - was hosted at the oceanside estate of Kevin Costner in Summerland and included noteworthy guests, including Katy Perry's parents. Harry wore black while Meghan opted for a sophisticated, chic look, in a monochrome jacket with her hair pulled back 'clean-girl' style.

EXCLUSIVE: One of Britain's dodgiest streets for eating out has been revealed. A whopping 19 takeaways, restaurants and pubs have zero-star ratings on Leytonstone High Road, east London. None of them display their actual rating, but some show four-star ratings in their windows - even though their current rank is nowhere near that and some of the inspections took place more than a year ago. Many of the owners claim a rogue inspector stitched them up but locals tell a different story. Passers-by told MailOnline they were 'not surprised' to learn so many food spots in the area had given abysmal zero-star ratings, which mean 'urgent improvement is necessary'.

Dutroux - who to this day still lives in infamy in the minds of the Belgian public - was part of a small group of people found responsible for a horrifying series of murders and kidnappings that shocked not just the country, but the whole of Europe. His former house in the Marcinelle suburb of Charleroi - and Dutroux himself - first became infamous in August 1996 when he led police to two kidnapped girls who were found cowering in the secret basement after they had been subjected to horrific abuse. Sabine Dardenne, 12, and Laetitia Delhez, 14, had been abducted separately earlier that year, chained to a bed and repeatedly raped. But as more was learned about Dutroux, it became clear they were fortunate to have been found alive. It transpired that four more girls - Mélissa Russo and Julie Lejeune, both eight years old, An Marchal, 17, and Eefje Lambrecks, 19 - had also been kidnapped by Dutroux and his accomplices a year earlier. All four died.

It came after a week of headlines about Brand's alleged behaviour towards women, as more come forward with accusations of abuse following an investigation by Channel 4 's Dispatches and The Times. Brand issued a pre-emptive statement on social media last Friday in which he denied all the allegations against him, said he has spoken openly about his promiscuity and that all sexual encounters have been consensual.

A Florida alligator was found with a dead body clamped between its jaws as it made its way down a canal near Clearwater. The gator could be see dragging its prey much to the horror of local residents some of whom began filming the shocking incident. Emergency responders, along with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission successfully removed the alligator from the water and subsequently euthanized it. The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office was able to retrieve the victim's body from the water although the victim has yet to be identified.

EXCLUSIVE A passenger with a life-threatening food allergy said she feared for her life aboard a flight, after claiming cabin crew refused to remove food and drink items which could have sent her into anaphylactic shock. Chloe Fitzpatrick was travelling from Manchester to Ibiza on August 18, 2023 and said she had informed staff of her severe strawberry allergy, asking them not to serve any strawberry products on the flight.  The 24-year-old, who was travelling with her sister Lucy Fitzpatrick, said she felt 'discriminated against' when the cabin crew manager refused to remove any food and drink items from the flight.

Vince Sjodin (pictured), 50, showed off the giant 4ft long vegetable at the UK National Giant Vegetables Championship in Malvern, Worcestershire. Chris Mellon (pictured right) said they were further proof that UFOs pose a 'security threat'. A stray dog that was quickly surrounded by three crocodiles as soon as it ran into their river may have thought that it wouldn't survive another minute. But in an astonishing turn of events, two of the crocodiles decided to nudge the young stray, which had jumped into the river to escape a pack of feral dogs, to safety with their snouts. Experts say that instead of devouring the stray dog, the marsh crocodiles 'guided' it away from where the barking pack of dogs were waiting for it on the river bank in the state of Maharashtra, western India.

New York City 's busiest subway station has a new crew member - an almost 400 pound robocop unveiled by NYC Mayor Eric Adams. "We're committed to exploring innovative tools to continue to make this city the safest big city in America, and this robot K5, it has the potential to serve as an important tool in our toolbox," Adams said in a press conference Friday morning. The robot, a product of autonomous security robots developer Knightscope , has four cameras it can use to record video without sound, and moves at 3 mph.

A video shows the hilarious moment a bride-to-be gets the whole plane involved in her celebrations - by launching into a Mexican wave. Jessica Calam (pictured) had been ready for a special weekend with her hen party last week  and took to the sky to head to Barcelona for her hen do. The 27-year-old from Farnborough, Hampshire was given a series of tasks to complete by her hens whilst they were on holiday. Her first task was to engage the entire plane in a Mexican wave whilst cruising at 30,000 feet which she managed without breaking a sweat. The clip begins with Jessica standing at the front of the plane with a flight attendant named Shelley who begins addressing the passengers through the in-flight communication system. She asks the passengers to get involved - and they are happy to oblige.

A new book from husband-and-wife photography duo James and Karla Murray celebrates the aesthetics and history of hundreds of these small stores that have long served specific communities. They include Vesuvio bakery on Prince Street which has been serving pastries for 102 years, Brooklyn's oldest Italian restaurant, Bamonte's, which was once a mafia haunt and Ray's Candy Store in the East Village - a favorite of celebrities. Some of the storefronts pictured in the book have shuttered since they were captured by the team. Many of them didn't make it to the last decade, and many more didn't make it through the downturned economy of the pandemic. The Murrays told DailyMail.com they wanted their book, Store Front NYC: Photographs of the City's Independent Shops, Past and Present , to preserve their memories and promote those that still exist.
